Promise for the North

An Indigenous Led Registered Charity Devoted to Permanently Improving Living Conditions in the North

Our Vision

All people of the Northern Territories are living in well maintained, good-sized, affordable homes, in thriving communities, with reliable access to abundant supplies of clean water, healthy food, and quality clothing, all at affordable prices.

Who We Are

A new and aggressive approach to eliminate long-standing issues!

Problems of the North are best solved by People of the North!

We will listen to each community as they describe the projects they need to achieve security in all basic needs.

Next, we will work with suppliers to acquire material and equipment and have them shipped to the communities at charitable rates.

Finally, we will combine federal grants with charitable donations and sponsorships, providing significant cost reduction for the communities. This will allow the communities to complete these projects quickly, making massive improvements in quality of life as fast as possible.

We are here to serve each of these wonderful communities, to make a permanent difference, allowing everyone peace of mind, comfort, and the support they need to reach for their dreams.

What Can We Help With

Imagine a charity that is authorised to combine charitable donations and federal grants to augment community budgets to execute ANY projects they want which address insecurities in food, water, clothing, or shelter. That's us!

Maslow's hierarchy of needs claimed that all people must first have all of our basic needs met, then must have security and safety before we can strive to reach our maximum potential.

At Promise for the North we believe everyone should have easy and secure access to all of these basic essentials.

We understand that many of the communities in the Northern Territories have struggled, for generations, with the lack of existence of some of these basics, and nearly all lack security in them.

Further, we understand that each community is different. There needs, both immediate and long term are different. The available solutions are different. The desires of the community are different. We are here to be of service; to acquire goods, services, and funds to provide to the community so it's leaders and execute the projects they see fit.

By working with shippers and suppliers to acquire materials and services at charitable rates, we can reduce project cost by one-third. By soliciting donations and grants, we can reduce cost by another one-third, making more projects affordable, allowing each community to complete amazing work to uplift living conditions for their residents!

Indigenous Support

We are here to level the playing field for the Indigenous people living in the Northern Territories. Our mission is to raise as much money as we can, then collaborate with Indigenous leaders to implement the projects they want in the fashion they choose. We will use the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action and the Inuit Societal Values as our Northern Lights and our Inukshuk, guiding our path as we eliminate the unacceptable living conditions the people currently endure.

Request a Project

We are asking community leaders to identify projects they need help with. We encourage community leaders to reach out to us soon so we can work with you to design the projects that meet your needs and desires. Whether it is clean water, good homes, healthy food, or any other pressing needs, please reach out. We are happy to help!

Sponsorships

Interested in sponsoring a construction project? We recently returned from a trip to the Beaufort Delta in NWT and have a list of projects the communities of Tuktoyaktuk, Inuvik, and Tsiigehtchic need funding support to execute.

Sponsors will receive advertising on our website and social media, within the community and with local and national press. Naming rights, with community permission, may also be available.

Please use the link below to learn more, then reach out to us to discuss sponsorship opportunities. The summer construction season is fast approaching so please reach out today!
